Oh how we love those adorable yellow minions! Have you seen the new movie yet? My kids really enjoyed the new minions movie. I’ll be honest….I’m not much of a “crafty” person. In fact, I cringe every time I have to do craft. Maybe it’s the mess that occurs – before, during and after a craft. Or maybe it’s because frankly, more of my projects would end up in the Pinterest “fail” category. BUT, the kids LOVE crafts and building something of their own. So, that means I end up digging through the left over birthday and Christmas craft supplies for anything that might work.
A yellow paper cup, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, glue and a sharpie. Yes!!…it might work. I had to assist my littlest one with the gluing and supervise the sharpie…. but boy were they excited about their new minion cups!! (Really, I was quite surprised, since – well, they are a little goofy looking to me. )
Next – came the best part! The pineapple banana smoothie! Say it with me…B-A-N-A-N-A!!!
My kids taught me an important lesson that day…it doesn’t matter so much what the craft ends up looking like. What matters is we spent some quality time together creating something and doing something they enjoyed. I’m sure there will be more minion cups or similar silliness in our future!
P.S. You may laugh at those minion cups…it’s ok. They are silly looking. And that’s precisely why they are so great.
2 cups fresh pineapple, cut into chunks
2 bananas, peeled
1 cup non-fat plain greek yogurt
1/4 cup pineapple juice
1 cup ice
whipped cream (optional)
Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. This makes approximately four thick and delicious smoothies.
