How to make tartar sauce
Homemade tartar sauce is so easy and so delicious. It’s a wonderful condiment for any fish fry or grilled fish. It’s particularly delicious with salmon cake burgers. To make homemade tartar sauce, you’ll need a food processor, like this Breville Sous Chef Food Processor to quickly blend and and incorporate the ingredients. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3.
In my version of tartar sauce, I like to use fresh crispy dill pickles, shallots and Italian parsley or dill. I like shallots because they have the bite of an onion, but are a little more sweet than a typical onion. Adjust the final seasoning and level of tartness you like by adding a touch more lemon juice or pickle juice at the end.
Store your homemade tartar sauce in a jar in the fridge for a few days. It’s always best fresh and disappears fast. Left over tartar sauce is great with french fries or in sandwiches. You’ll love it.
