Bavarian sausages, potatoes and apple make this one-pot slow-cooked meal delicious.

Ingredients
  • 3 strips bacon cut into pieces and fried crispy
  • 2 tbsp flour for gluten free, substitute 1 tbsp gluten free flour and 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed together
  • 1 16 oz bag Boar's Head sauerkraut or 1 15 oz can sauerkraut
  • 2 small to medium sized red potatoes skin on, cubed
  • 1 small to medium sized apple Braeburn or Macintosh
  • 1 tbsp stone ground Dijon mustard
  • 4 - 6 Bavarian sausages cooked, or Polish sausage
Instructions
  1. Fry the bacon until crisp. Remove bacon and set aside. Drain most of the drippings, except 2 tablespoons.
  2. On low heat add the flour to bacon drippings. Blend well, then add the sauerkraut and cooked bacon back together.
  3. Blend well, then add the sauerkraut and cooked bacon back together. Stir then transfer to the slow cooker. Add the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low 5 – 6 hours, or high 3 – 4 hours.
Recipe Notes

Boar's head sauerkraut and Bavarian Meats Smoked Bratwurst sausages are generally in the deli section of the grocery store. Use a cooked Bavarian-style sausage or Polish-style sausage. You can also mix up different types of sausages.
