Sprinkle these caramelized candied pecans on salads or your favorite fall desserts. Pairs perfectly with pumpkin pie!
Servings: 6 people
Line a dinner plate with parchment paper and set aside. Use a medium-sized skillet.
On medium-high heat, melt the butter and sauté the pecans a couple minutes. This lightly toasts the pecans. Sprinkle the sugar over the nuts and toss to coat. Continue cooking, tossing the pecans until the sugar begins to brown and caramelize.
Move the pecans to the parchment lined dinner plate to cool. Once fully cooled, store in an airtight container or jar. Use on your favorite salads or desserts.
- Watch these carefully and reduce the heat if necessary. I find these can go from caramelized to burnt very quickly.
- You can do this with whole pecans or pieces.
- Brown sugar can be used in place of white if desired.
