  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries cleaned and hulled
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice about 6 lemons, seeds removed
  • 3 cups cold water
  • large pitcher
  • ice for serving
  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the sugar and water to a simmer. Stir so the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let it cool. Place strawberries into a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Put the strawberry puree through a sieve to remove most of the seeds and pulp. Combine the strawberry juice, sugar water and lemon juice into a large pitcher. Add 3 cups of cold water and stir well. Serve with ice and garnish with lemon or strawberry slices.
